Spogel (Ispaghol husk) is the epidermis separated from the seeds of the Plantago ovata consisting of the tiny transparent flakes each having a brown oval spot.
COMPOSITION
Spogel (Ispaghol husk) chiefly constitute the mucilage which yields two complex
polysaccharides, one soluble in cold water and the other soluble in hot water.
INDICATIONS:
- Spogel (Ispaghol husk) is widely used in gastrology or GIT complaints in the following
pathological conditions;
- Irregular bowel movements due to intestinal irritation.
- Most desirable agent in chronic or habitual constipation.
- Chronic, acute and recurrent diarrhea and dysentery.
- Hyperacidity, heartburn, ulcers and bloody piles.
- Hypercholesterolemia, athethrosclerosis and other cardio-vascular disturbances due
to elevated cholesterol level.
- Anadipsia, caumesthesia, spermatorrhoea, nocturnal emission, micturition, dysuria and frequent nightfall.
- Grumovses semen consistency.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
For Adults 3 to 4 teaspoonful as single dose or twice daily, dry, dispersed or soaked in milk, yogurt,
fruit juice, syrup or with water.
For Children1 to 2 teaspoonful as single dose or twice daily, dry, dispersed or soaked in milk, yogurt ,fruit juice,syrup or with water.
SIDE EFFECTS:
Long term therapy may cause gastric heaviness and deficiency of fat soluble vitamins.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Store at cool dry place and protect from sunlight.
